My music is the spiritual expression of what I am – my faith, my knowledge, my being… When you begin to see the possibilities of music, you desire to do something really good for people, to help humanity free itself from its hangups … I want to speak to their souls.
— John Coltrane

Programs

Golden Thread Concert Series

"The breadth & depth of this experience, in musical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual terms was immense, and quite unlike anything else I've ever experienced."

The Golden Thread Concerts expand on the ritual and ceremonial elements of a concert into a mystical, as well as artistic, experience. We celebrate the diversity of sound artists in Los Angeles while emphasizing the shared purpose that ties them together.

Original Works

"This work reveals a depth of spirit and emotion that I wasn’t expecting. The guts of it are so real and true and engaging and personal, I love moving through the music and finding those things that clearly and personally resonate.”

Creating interdisciplinary, theatrical narratives based on numinous transformation is at the center of the Resonance Collective’s work. We engage in creation as a collective, community oriented process with interplay between creators, performers, and audience as active participants in a final experience that is greater than the sum of its parts.

NEO Voice Festival

"The N.E.O. Festival opened and renewed my joy of music making, and provided a lot of fresh perspectives that many musicians could benefit from."

Every year, an international cohort of musicians - including composers, singers, educators, conductors, and those artists who defy definition and expectation - gather for a week-long summer intensive featuring a series of concerts and workshops in celebration of the human voice. Through compassion-focused, artist-centered guidance, the N.E.O. Voice Festival encourages participants to rediscover their identity and work as creators in a supportive and collaborative community.

About Us

Welcome to the Resonance Collective, a creative community that looks to the arts as a vehicle for transformative and transcendental experiences.

We are reinventing and redefining what music and art can be, opening the door of possibility wider with every performance. We suspect everything has the potential to be sacred and see the arts as a vehicle for unveiling that mystery. If the Mystery is a diamond, The Resonance Collective seeks to create a space where every performance and work of art is an opportunity to explore one façet as we pursue a greater understanding of the whole.

Our Story

The Resonance Collective began in 2012 as a partnership between composer Fahad Siadat and director/choreographer André Megerdichian to create new interdisciplinary narrative works. Their first production, Saharava: A Ritualized Dance-Opera premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival Since then, the Resonance Collective has created a body of work that has been presented internationally in Prague, Barcelona, and Beijing as well as various venues across the United Stated and in conjunction with such organizations as the Cincinnati Ballet, Third Angle Music, The Broadstage, Monmouth University, and others.

In 2019 was the first iteration of the international N.E.O. Voice Festival in collaboration with VoiceScienceWorks and See-A-Dot Music Publishing. N.E.O. is a week-long celebration of new and experimental music for the voice, an experiment in utopian music making with an international community of singers and composers. Since its inception, the N.E.O. Voice Festival has worked with over 200 musicians from a dozen countries and premiered over 100 new works for the voice.

In 2022 we began the Golden Thread Concerts, a curation of artists and composers that exemplify how musicians have explored the intersection of their creative and spiritual practices. which has presented internationally acclaimed artists including oud player and composer Yuval Ron, Jazz legend Dwight Trible, electronic artist and soprano Micaela Tobin, and pianist Vicki Ray.

Support our community and programs

Artist Fund

"Resonance Collective is a safe, supportive and non-competitive space for creators to explore and experiment with sound, expression, collaboration, and to discover more about themselves as artists."

We spend over $20k each year paying performing artists, a number we hope will continue to grow! Every dollar donated to this fund will go towards paying performing artists.

Scholarship Fund

"This festival opened and renewed my joy of music making, and provided a lot of fresh perspectives that many musicians could benefit from."

Every year the N.E.O. Voice Festival offer tuition scholarships and waivers to exceptional musicians who help lead the festival and often, for economic or cultural reasons, have traditionally not had access to musical festival experiences. These scholarships add up to $8,000 or more a year. Every dollar donated to this fund will go towards funding N.E.O. Festival scholarships.

Subsidized Ticket Fund

“No matter people’s spiritual background, they’re moved by this work.”

Did you love your concert experiences? Help make it accessible to everyone. For every $20 donated we will make available another pair of subsidized tickets to our concert series. Our goal is at least 10 subsidized tickets each concert ($2k a year), but there is no limit to what we’ll make available through donations!

General Fund

“I was expecting a pleasant musical evening, but the experience was so much richer than I imagined. I continue to reflect on the stories, the music, and what I learned about how to approach life in our amazing community of LA.”

These donations will go to our area of greatest need for the Resonance Collective as a whole.
